1. Purpose
The Saudi Business Council (SBC) is committed to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, transparency, accountability, and responsible international cooperation.
This Code of Ethics establishes the principles governing the conduct of all individuals acting on behalf of SBC and supports the Council's mission to strengthen international partnerships in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
2. Scope
This Code applies to:

  • Board Members
  • President and Vice-President
  • Secretariat
  • Employees
  • Volunteers
  • Advisors
  • Researchers
  • Experts
  • Programme participants
  • International delegations
  • Partner organisations participating in SBC initiatives where applicable

3. Core Principles
SBC operates according to the following institutional values:

  • Compliance with applicable laws

4. Professional Conduct
Representatives of SBC shall:

  • Act honestly and ethically
  • Respect cultural diversity and international protocols
  • Promote constructive dialogue and mutual understanding
  • Avoid behaviour that could damage the reputation of the Council
  • Perform their responsibilities with professionalism and impartiality

5. Conflict of Interest
Individuals acting on behalf of SBC shall:

  • disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest
  • avoid participating in decisions where a conflict exists
  • place the interests of the Council above personal or commercial interests

6. Anti-Corruption
SBC maintains a zero-tolerance approach towards:

  • bribery
  • corruption
  • fraud
  • facilitation payments
  • abuse of authority
  • misuse of institutional resources

All activities shall comply with applicable Spanish, European Union and international legal requirements.
7. Equal Opportunity and Respect

The Council is committed to maintaining a professional environment free from harassment, discrimination and intimidation.
8. Confidentiality
Individuals shall protect confidential information obtained through SBC activities and shall not disclose non-public information without proper authorisation or legal obligation.
9. Responsible Communications
Only authorised representatives may make official statements or represent SBC publicly.
Communications shall be:

  • accurate
  • respectful
  • evidence-based
  • consistent with SBC policies and institutional protocols

10. Compliance
All representatives are expected to comply with:

  • SBC governance policies
  • applicable legislation
  • internal procedures
  • partnership agreements
  • institutional protocols

Failure to comply may result in appropriate organisational action.
11. Reporting Concerns
Concerns regarding unethical conduct may be reported confidentially to:
